Wentworth 5, Worcester State 4
Boston, MA --- Wentworth took four singles matches and second doubles to post a 5-4 triumph over Worcester State this afternoon. Junior Ashley Perkins (Worcester, MA/Doherty) was the standout for WSC as she helped post a pair of victories.
Perkins along with classmate Courteney Blais (Paxton, MA) and senior Jessica Sargent (Clinton, MA) teamed with fourth-year Albana Xhemollari (Worcester, MA/North) to post a pair of 9-7 and 8-6 triumphs in first and third doubles, respectively.
In the singles matches Perkins and senior Lauren Cain (Framingham, MA) each tallied winning scores in , but Wentworth took second, third, fourth and fifth singles to help edge the Lancers and finish their year at 5-10. Xhemollari had the closest set as she forced an extra tie-breaker session, but lost her third singles match-up.
Worcester State (4-8) closes out the season with Clark on Tuesday at 5 PM.
