N. Dartmouth, MA --- Four Worcester State women's tennis student-athletes have been named to the Little East All-Academic Team honors as announced by league publicist Jack Holleran.

The squad had the most honorees on the Little East All-Academic Team.

To earn a spot on the Fall All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be enrolled within their institution for a full academic year, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 and a full-time member of a varsity sport.

The honorees included junior teammates Brooke Michanczyk (Middletown, CT) and Laura Sarkis (W. Springfield, MA) along with sophomore classmates Miranda Biron (Webster, MA) and Taylor Tomasetti (Waterford, CT).

For the second time in their careers, Michanczyk and Sarkis both earned laurels. The pair were also distinguished with ITA Division III Scholar Athlete recognition in August for having GPAs of 3.5 or better.

Under the guidance of first-year head coach Albana Xhemollari, the Blue and Gold ended their 2012 season with a record of 6-8 and 3-5 in the Little East Conference. In their third full year in the LEC, the Lancers qualified for the conference tournament and bowed out to Salem State in the quarterfinals.
