MEDFORD, Mass. – Freshman Stephanie McFadries (Burlington, Mass.) helped her team to a 5th place finish in the Tufts Snowflake Classic, as she earned a top spot in the javelin throw on Saturday (Apr. 2). McFadries marked a top throw of 34.88m, edging the second place contestant by 1.39m and qualifying for Division III New England's in the event.
Worcester's Dalena Le (Worcester, Mass.) and Rachel Lauzon (Carver, Mass.) came in second and third places, respectively, in the 400 Meter Hurdles in 1:10.54 and 1:16.32, marking a total of 14 points for the team.
Justine Murdocca (Milford, Mass.) marked a fifth place finish in the 10000 Meter Run in a tie of 41:14.35, earning four points for the Lancers' overall total and also qualifying for Division III New England Championships.
Hanna Carson (Natick, Mass.) placed fourth out of 22 competitors in the shot put, also qualifying for Division III New England's at 11.46m.
Molly Downing (Dedham, Mass.) came in fifth place in the women's hammer throw for a distance of 40.05m, while Worcester's Elizabeth McCormack (Gloucester, Mass.) came in behind her at seventh place at 36.85m.
Worcester's Megan Rouillard (Barrington, NH) came in eighth place in the javelin throw.
Next weekend, the Lancers travel to American International College for their third meet of the season.
