FITCHBURG, Mass. - Worcester State's Dalena Le (Worcester, Mass.) was the winner of the 400 Meter Hurdles as she beat second place competitor by just .04 seconds at 1:07.07 on Saturday (Apr. 16) at the Eric Loeschner Invitational. With her markings, she qualifies for Division III New England's. She also marked a sixth place finish in the women's triple jump at 10.27m.
Worcester State's group of Danielle Cote (Dighton, Mass.), Kayla Corcoran (Lunenburg, Mass.), Danielle Bavoux (Medway, Mass.), and Mia Rogers (N. Dighton, Mass.) won the 4x800 Meter Relay atop of University of New England, St. Anslem, and Bergen Community College. With their time, they currently rank 9th in Division III New England. As a team, Worcester State came in second out of eight teams in the 4x100 Meter Relay at 51.01.
Abigail Danso (Worcester, Mass.) marked a second place finish to qualify for Division III New England Championships in the 100 Meter Hurdles, coming in just behind Fitchburg State's top competitor in 16.47. Teammate Delia Rhodes (Lawrence, Mass.) logged a 7th place finish in the event at 17.53.
Hanna Carson (Natick, Mass.) led the Lancers in the shot put, as she tagged a second place finish at 11.99 meters, good for Division III New England and ECAC Championships. She also placed in the discus throw and hammer throw, coming in at the eighth spot for both competitions. Elizabeth McCormack (Gloucester, Mass.) led the team in the hammer throw at 5th place (41.82m), qualifying for Division III New England's, while Molly Downing (Dedham, Mass.) followed her at 7th place.
Freshman Stephanie McFadries (Burlington, Mass.) earned second place in the women's javelin throw at 38.92m, which is good for Division III New England and ECAC Championships.
Francesca Casasanta (Milford, Mass.) placed fourth in the high jump with a top height of 1.47m. She also placed ninth in the women's triple jump.
Rogers placed fourth in the 1500 Meter Run at 5:01.52. Emily Visconti (N. Reading, Mass.) marked a 6th place finish in the 100 Meter Dash in a time of 12.98. She then placed 9th in the 200 Meter Dash in a time of 26.79.
Next weekend, the Lancers travel to Springfield College for their fifth meet of the outdoor season, before taking part in the MASCAC Championships the following weekend.
