MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Worcester State University women's track & field team opened up the 2018 season at the Wesleyan University Spring Classic on Saturday, as the team competed in just track events (sprints, mid-distance, distance).

RECAP

Worcester State University's sophomore Doreen Buabeng (Worcester, Mass.) earned the top spot in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 13.22, while also coming in fifth in the 200 Meters (27.48). Teammate Abigail MacGregor (Salem, N.H.) was right behind her in both events, placing 2^nd in the 100 meters (13.30) and 7^th place in the 200 meters (27.81).

Both Justine Murdocca (Milford, Mass.) and Emily Dickson (Marlboro, Mass.) competed in the 5000 Meters, coming in second and third places, respectively.

The team did not compete in any field events at the meet.

UP NEXT

Next weekend, both the men's and women's teams will travel to Tufts for the Snowflake Classic.
