Youth Shine for Lancers at NCAA DIII Regionals

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Track and Field team made a splash this weekend at the NCAA DIII Regionals at Mt. Holyoke as they competed on both the track and in the field.

 

First year Ciara Adu-Addo (Worcester, MA) would wrap up her field events on Friday evening, placing 17th in the long jump with a distance of 4.73m and make a quick return on Saturday as the led the 4x100 relay team, made up of senior Eryca Lopes (Ayer, MA), and fellow first years Alexis Strong (Southington, CT) and Lexie Zakrzewski (Taunton, MA) to an 11th place time of 51.44.

 

First year Jadah Stokes (Savannah, GA) would land in 13th in the Saturday afternoon shot put event with a measurement of 11.34m and rounding out the Women's cohort was junior Carly Gilson (Grafton, MA) who crossed in a time of 61.16 for 25th in the 400m for the Lancers.

 

Worcester State will return to action next weekend at Holy Cross for the NEICAAA Championships.
