Saylor, O'Brien and Stoddard Named to All-MASCAC Team

Worcester, MA --- Junior outside hitter Lauren Saylor (Swansea, MA) has been tabbed to the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) first-team in a vote taken by each of the conferences eight coaches this past week. Classmate outside hitter Colleen O'Brien (Shrewsbury, MA) and freshman setter Brittany Stoddard (Orange, MA) were also distinguished with second-team accolades.

Saylor, a two-time all-conference selection and 2006 MASCAC Rookie of the Year, was among the conference leaders in several statistical categories. She is currently third in the conference in hitting percentage (.232) and kills per game (2.63), fifth in total kills (250) and ninth in total digs with 257.

Stoddard was third in the MASCAC in total assists (578) and fourth in assists per game (5.50) while she is third in the conference in service aces with 60, just three off the lead. O'Brien is second to Saylor in kills with 106 for an average of 1.68 kills per game.

Worcester State (17-14), under the direction of fourth year head coach Bernie Chase, continues its season on Wednesday in the first round of the 2008 ECAC New England Tournament with an away game against Johnson and Wales at 7 PM.
