Lebel Selected MASCAC Player of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Worcester State junior outside hitter Becky Lebel has been named MASCAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for helping lead the charge for the Lancers in a 2-2 week. For Lebel, this is her first weekly career honor.

Lebel, who hails from Millbury, MA and went to Blackstone Valley Tech, averaged 10.8 kills and 13 digs to go along with five aces, four blocks (two solo) and a .315 hitting percentage.

She started out the week with eight kills and nine digs in a 3-0 triumph over Bay Path before she added 10 kills and 20 digs in a 3-1 setback against Newbury. Lebel would finish off the weekend posting totals of 16 kills and nine digs in a 3-1 victory over Salem State and nine kills and 14 digs in a 3-1 loss to Daniel Webster.  

Lebel is currently fifth in the MASCAC in total kills (102) and hitting percentage (.264) as she is also eighth in total digs (126) and tenth in average digs (2.42 DPG). Lebel also is second in blocks (14) – with seven solos – and fourth on the team in aces (15).

Worcester State (6-7, 2-0 MASCAC) will play 2011 MASCAC Regular Season and Tournament Champion Westfield State in a key conference tournament game on Wednesday at 7 PM in their only match of the week.
