UMass Dartmouth 3, Worcester State 2

Gorham, ME --- Sophmore Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) paced Worcester State with 15 kills and nine digs while sophomore Becky Lebel finished with a .333 hitting percentage, but the Lancers would fall to UMass Dartmouth, 3-2, in a neutral site non-conference match at Southern Maine.

It was a back and forth match thoughout as the Corsairs prevailed in the five-set match by set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 19-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Lebel's stellar hitting percentage was due in large part to her finishing the contest with a team-high 16 kills on 42 attempts to go with just two errors.

Second-year Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, NY) posted a double-double with 56 assists and 14 digs. With her total of helpers, Lewis eclipsed the school-record for assists that was previously held by Samantha BelBruno against Clark in the City Tournament in 2007.

Junior Megan Brown (Dartmouth, MA) distinguished herself with 13 digs and six kills. Third-year Vicki O'Brien (Canton, MA) and classmate Nicole Hanson (Dighton, MA) also registered 14 and 12 digs, respectively.

Lebel and Lewis also combined for nine of the squads 11 block assists in the setback. Five had double-figure dig totals for WSU.
