Leicester, MA --- Junior Vicki O'Brien (Canton, MA) tallied seven kills and three service aces to lead Worcester State to a 3-0 win over host Becker on Thursday evening in non-conference women's volleyball action at the Leicester Gymnasium.

The Lancers won by consecutive set scores of 25-12, 25-7 and 25-21. The contest marked the home opener for the Hawks (2-16) while the Blue and Gold upped their record to 11-8 overall.  

O'Brien was also a stalwart on defense, coming up with 11 digs. Senior Becky Lebel (Millbury, MA) contributed six kills while leading Worcester State with a .400 kill percentage (6-2-10).

Freshman Jennifer Cabral (Swansea, MA) had six kills, three service aces and 13 digs while Kaylee Leduc (Swansea, MA) led all players with 14 digs.

Second-year Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, NY) and freshman Gina Battista (West Springfield, MA) contributed 17 and 13 set assists, respectively.  

Junior Jacqueline Chila (Monroe, CT) led the Hawks with five kills and seven digs. Sophomore Danielle Robbie (Bellingham, MA) finished with a team-high eight digs.

Senior Joanna Slomiak (Brockton, MA) totaled seven assists and seven digs.

Both squads will host tri-matches on Saturday, starting at 11 AM. The Lancers entertain Framingham State and Babson while Clark and Daniel Webster will make morning visits to Leicester.
