Women's Volleyball Runs Streak To Eight In 3-0 Victory Over MCLA

 

N. Adams, MA --- Senior Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) smashed 17 kills with 17 digs and a .361 hitting clip to help pace Worcester State to a 3-0 victory over MCLA in MASCAC women's volleyball action this afternoon.

In the victory the Lancers won their eighth consecutive game while also improving to 13-2 and 2-0 in conference play. The Trailblazers fall to 7-5 overall in their first MASCAC defeat.

The Blue and Gold won their matchup in three straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-20.

Junior Meghan Deighan (Lynnfield, MA) was also a force behind the net as she registered eight kills with on miscue in 22 attempts for a .333 percentage while also recording a pair of solo blocks and four block assists.

Junior Jennifer Cabral (Swansea, MA) and classmate Kaylee Leduc (Swansea, MA) paced a solid back row effort with 16 and 12 digs, respectively, as senior Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, NY) handed out 33 assists with two block assists.

Sophomore Jamika Townsend (Virginia Beach, VA) filled the stat sheet with five kills, eight digs and one service ace.

Leduc and Cabral also combined for six of the squads seven aces.

Worcester State continues MASCAC play on Wednesday at 8 PM in their home opener against Westfield State in a key conference match. The contest will be played at WPI's Harrington Auditorium.
