LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Worcester State University women's volleyball program has been named a recipient of the United States Marine Corps and American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 season.

"I am very proud of this team's academic accomplishment," said Worcester State head coach Bernie Chase. "It was a tough year for everyone to stay focused, and they did it extremely well."

To be eligible for the award, teams must maintain a cumulative grade point aver of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale.

Worcester State was one of 1,275 collegiate and high school teams nationwide to receive the honor. It is the fourth consecutive season the Lancers earned the AVCA award.
