Women's Cross Country Takes Seventh At Emmanuel Saints Invitational

Boston, MA --- Freshman Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) placed 14th for the Womens' Cross Country team with a time of 20:39 as she helped the Lancers place seventh out of 19 teams at the Emmanuel Saints Invitational on Friday at Franklin Park.

First-year Brittany Grueter (Foxboro, MA) finished in 25th (21:18) while sophomore Meg Plant (Franklin, MA) took 26th, was right behind her just seven seconds away (21:25). Sophomore Molly Gates (Worcester, MA/Doherty) was solid in 44th while freshman Nicole Beaudreau (S. Windsor, CT) added 69th.

The rest of the field for Worcester State was rounded out by first-year teamates Leah Walczak (Whitinsville, MA), Kristina Richard (Peabody, MA) and Steph Muse (Chemlsford, MA) who each tallied 74th (23:47), 76th (23:53) and 77th (24:02), respectively.

On the women's side there were 146 entrants as MIT took first place with 15 points followed by Wheaton (98) and Babson (117). Salem State notched fourth with 132 points. 

Next week the Lancers will compete in the MASCAC Championships hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park.
