Cross Country Highlights from New England Alliance Championships

Keene, NH --- Freshman standout Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) placed 19th to earn All-New England Alliance honors as she crossed the line with a time of 20:53 to help the Women's team finish eighth while the men were led by classmate Alex Droby (Uxbridge, MA) as they took 11th as the New England Alliance Championships hosted by Keene State this afternoon.

First-year Brittany Grueter (Foxboro, MA) broke 21 minutes with a time of 21:43 in 38th followed by sophomore Meg Plant (Franklin, MA) who registered 45th (22:07). Sophomore Molly Gates (Worcester, MA/Doherty) added 65th (22:57) while freshman teamates Kristina Richard (Peabody, MA) and Nicole Boudreau (S. Windsor, CT) along with senior Adrienne Fisher (Wilmington, MA) each placed 87th (23:46), 96th (23:59), and 97th (24:02), respectively.

Droby paced the men as he took 83rd with a time of 30:01 while freshman Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) was 21 seconds off in 87th (30:22) and first-year Greg Babiec (Worcester, MA/Doherty) rounded out the men in 100th place (30:51).

Worcester State was the third-best MASCAC finisher in eighth at the Alliance meet as Westfield, led by Alliance Champion Kerry Arouca, notched first place while Bridgewater recorded fourth. The men finished in 11th place.

The Lancers will take a week off before competing in the All-New England qualifier hosted by Williams at Mount Greylock.
