Fitchburg, MA --- Sophomore Courtney Godfrey (Danvers, MA) placed ninth with a time of 25:49 to help lead Worcester State to second at the Jim Sheehan Invitational this afternoon at Cogshell Park's 5k course.

The meet was the season opener for the Lancers, who will bring their full team to the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational next week. 

Other finishers included second-year Maggie Ingraham (Danvers, MA) placed inside the top 10 with a time of 26:29 while senior Nicole Boudreau (South Windsor, CT) and junior Emma Riley (Fairhaven, MA) added 11th (26:35) and 12th (26:54), respectively.

Freshman Anna Fisher (Brockton, MA) rounded out the top five for WSU with a time of 30:03 in 17th.
