Womens Cross Country Earns Third Place At Tri-States Championship

 

Cranston, RI --- Senior Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) placed second overall with a time of 20:21 as she helped lead Worcester State to a third place finish at the Tri-State Meet Saturday morning at CCRI held at their campus course.

Wheaton won the event with a total of 30 points while Bridgewater State (48) just edged Worcester State (49) for second.

Senior Brittany Grueter (Foxboro, MA) added another top finish for the Lancers with her tenth place finish (21:27) as junior classmates Ali Barrett (Hingham, MA) and Jenna Pickard (Peabody, MA) raced to identical times of 21:45 earning 11th and 12th, respectively.

Sophomore Jennifer Cardinal (Chicopee, MA) added a 14th place (21:55) and senior Natalie Marchi (Northbridge, MA) finished just five seconds off earning 15th place and rounding out the group.

Next week the Lancers will compete in the James Earley Invitational held at Westfield State's Stanley Park- the same site as the MASCAC/Alliance Championship held in one month.
