Women's Cross Country Places 25th At Division III New England Regionals

 

Westfield, MA --- Senior Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) finished with a time of 23:31 in 93rd place to help the Worcester State women's cross country team finish 25th at the Division III New England Championships this afternoon at Stanley Park's 6k course.

MIT won the meet with 54 points while the Lancers (762) edged out Bridgewater State (767) for the second-highest team finish among MASCAC institutions.

Junior Ali Barrett (Hingham, MA) also placed 125th with a time of 24:15 as classmate Jenna Pickard (Peabody, MA) added 178th (25:07).

Sophomore Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA) was a second off of Pickard in 180th (25:08) while second-year teammate Jennifer Cardinal (Chicopee, MA) crossed the finish line in 193rd (25:23).

Senior's Brittany Grueter (Foxboro, MA) and Natalie Marchi (Northbridge, MA) both placed 213th (25:49) and 233rd (26:11), respectively.

Donohue distinguished herself with the fourth-best time among MASCAC competitors while Barrett clocked the tenth highest spot.

The meet wraps up the 2012 season for the women's cross country team.
