Women’s Cross Country Concludes Season at NCAA Regional Championships

WATERFORD, Conn. – The Worcester State University women's cross country team concluded their 2015 season with a 6k race at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn. For the NCAA Division III New England Region Cross Country Championship. The Lancers placed 33rd out of 60 teams total at the meet.

 

Worcester State's top runner was freshman Mia Rogers (North Dighton, Mass.) who came in 67th place with an overall time of 23:06.1. Rogers was the first Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) freshman to cross the finish line. She was the third finisher in the MASCAC behind Westfield State's sophomore Jess Cardin and Bridgewater State's Danielle Poto.

 

Finishing the line at 170th place was freshman Laura DelleChiaie (Haverhill, Mass.) with a time of 24:44.3. Sophomore Danielle Cote (Dighton, Mass.) came in 223rd place while freshman Kelsey Bedard (Leominster, Mass.) came in 258th. Cote and Bedard had times of 25:33.3 and 26:08.2, respectively.

 

Rounding up the runners for Worcester State was sophomore Sara McIsaac (Weymouth, Mass.) and freshman Shayla Schoeneberger (Vernon, Conn.) at 278th and 281st place with times of 26:24.3 and 26:25.6, respectively.
