WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's freshman Julia Carrier (Oxford, Mass.) earned her third Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's cross country rookie of the week award, as announced by the league Monday (Oct. 16) afternoon.

This past weekend, Carrier placed 93rd in a time of 24:48.6 over the 6K course at the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford, Conn.

"Carrier and (Justine) Murdocca each ran an excellent race, pushing and pulling each other through the final third of the race, the scratching out a strong finishing kick," commented head coach Gary Jusseaume on Carrier's performance.

The cross country team will break next week to prepare for the MASCAC Championships that will be hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park on Saturday, October 28.
