Lancers Claim Fourth at MASCAC Championship Behind Berg

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Cross Country team, after a season of speed and raising the bar, competed in the MASCAC Championship today. Led by junior Leah Berg (Worcester, MA)  the Lancers recorded 94 points on the day to finish 4th at the Championship.

 

Berg would lead the pack with a 12th place finish in a time of 20:32.51. Coming in just a minute behind, and in 24th, was junior Bridget O'Malley (Leominster, MA) who crossed in a time of 21:37.74. Chasing her down was first year Cassandra Dirsa (Bolton, MA) who was just under 10 seconds behind in 26th, finishing in a time of 21:45.55. Junior Kelsey Gendreau (Seekonk, MA) placed two spots behind in a time of 22.26.49. Junior Jillian McMenemy (Westborough, MA) would come in at the 40th spot in the conference at a time of 24:25.26 with junior Aubrey Tunnera (Marlborough, MA) three spots behind in a time of 24:47.08 and junior Claudia Symonick (Auburn, MA) in 44th at 24:57.91.

 

Worcester State will return to action on November 16th to compete in NCAA DIII regionals in a bid for qualification to the NCAA tournament.
