
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Cross-Country team has been picked to finish fifth in the 2024 MASCAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll as selected by the conference coaches. The Lancers return a depth of talent within their junior class and are added in their endeavor for a top spot at the end of the season with the addition of new talent to the team behind second year head coach Scott Vandermolen.
Grabbing the top spot in the poll was Westfield State with four first first place votes and a total of 24 points. Bridgewater State claimed the second spot with two first place votes and 22 points followed closely by Fitchburg State with 14 points in a point tie with Framingham State. Sitting in fifth place is Worcester State with 11 points while Mass. Maritime closed out the poll in sixth with 5 points.
The Women’s Cross-Country team kick off their season on Saturday, August 31st, when they travel to Keene State as they begin their prep for the MASCAC Championships on November 2nd.
