Cape Cod, MA --- Six Worcester State student-athletes have been tabbed with NEFC Academic All-Conference accolades as announced by conference publicist Roger Crosley.
The selections included senior Sean Phelan (Jefferson, MA), junior's Pat Conrad (Forestdale, MA), Mike Dance (Rocky Hill, CT), Adam Straughn (Rockland, MA) and Kyle White (Melrose, MA) and sophomore Teddy Ferreira (Mansfield, MA).
For Straughn, this marks the second time that he has earned the All-Academic nod as he was recognized on the 2010 NEFC All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for All-Academic laurels, a student-athlete must have completed three semesters at the same institution with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, based on a 4.0 scale.
18 of 68 football student-athletes were recently honored with Fall MASCAC All-Academic honors for maintaining a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or for achieving the mark during their season of play.
The number marked the highest amount of football players in the last ten seasons and the most since 14 were recognized by the MASCAC on the 2005-06 All-Academic Team.
