Men's Golf Opens Season At Trinity Invitational

 

Hebron, CT --- Sophomore David Rixham (Northbridge, MA) handed in a two-day card of 117 (+9) to tie for 17th as he helped lead Worcester State in their first tournament of the season at the Trinity Invitational.

The Lancers finished the invitational with a score of 510, which was 64 strokes off of the hosting Bantams, who took home the team title with a score of 446.

Rixham fired a 42 on in a rain-shortened opening round at Tuxis Plantation Country Club before he would finish the final day of the event with a score of 75 (+3) on the par 72 Blackledge Country Club.

Rixham's second-round score tied for the 5th best card, a mark that eight other student-atheltes also shared.

Junior Jeremy Ross (Holden, MA) tied for 42nd with a score of 126 (+18) while freshman Zach Poirier (Sturbridge, MA) equalled 59th (132; +24).

First-year Conor Silkey (Hubbardston, MA) registered 62nd (137; +29) while third-year Brian Moskal (Springfield, MA/Cathedral) and sophomore Matt Collamer (Dracut, MA) both tied for 63rd overall (138; +30).

The Lancers will compete next weekend at the Middlebury Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
