Westfield, MA --- Freshman Patrick Sharron (Boylston, MA) has been recognized as the MASCAC Rookie of the Week for his strong performance this past Tuesday.
In a rain shortened event, Sharron tied for 20th individually at the Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational at his home course of Blackstone National while he also equaled sixth as the top first-year finisher at the MASCAC Championships (42; +6).
Sharron has been one of the most consistent golfers on the club during the course of the season. His finish at the Korzec Memorial marked the second time that he has been the best golfer with his other finish being 11th place on October 2 at the Elms Fall Invitational (79; +7).
This spring, Sharron tied as the second-best finish at RIC while he was third at UMass Dartmouth. In the fall, he had two marks as the best Lancer runner-up at Trinity and Middlebury.
The Lancers will finish their campaign at the Assumption Invitational on Tuesday, April 22, the Elms Spring Invitational on Wednesday, April 23 and a dual matchup with Becker on Wednesday, April 30.
