Middlebury, VT --- Sophomore Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) carded a low-round total of 83 (+12) on the second day of the Duke Nelson Invitational as he helped lead Worcester State to 21st place at the par 71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course this afternoon.
Paced by senior Rob Donahue's (Canton, MA) two-day score of 139 (-3), host Middlebury won their own tournament with a team score of 596. The Lancers shot 678 as a team which was just 23 strokes off of Johnson & Wales and the top 20.
Junior Bryan Dunham (Tolland, CT) paced all Lancer golfers with a score of 167 (+24) to tie for 85th while freshman Patrick Sharron (Boylston, MA) and Davis were right behind knotting 93rd (169; +26) and 98th (170; +27), respectively.
Third-year David Rixham (Northbridge, MA) tied for 100th (172; +29) and sophomore Brendan Dugan (Sutton, MA) rounded out the group with 109th place (178; +35).
Next week Worcester State will compete at the two-day Williams Invitational at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, MA.
