Kalczynski Named MASCAC Goalkeeper Of The Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Senior Bryan Kalczynski has been tabbed this week MASCAC Goalkeeper of the Week for helping lead Worcester State to a 1-0-1 week and a strong performance at the Southern New Hampshire PAL/Stovepipe Cup. For Kalczynski this marks his second career weekly honor.

Kalczynski, a native of Tonawanda, NY, who transferred in two years ago from Erie Community College, posted a win and a tie to go with a 0.96 goals against average and a 0.957 save percentage for all-tournament honors for the Lancers. He stopped 26 of the 27 shots he saw on net in a 1-1 opening round draw with UMass Boston to go with 18 saves in a 6-1 consolation round triumph over the hosting Penmen.

As of this past week, Kalczynski currently tops the overall MASCAC statistical standings in goals against average (2.12) and save percentage (.922) while he is second in total saves (153). Among NCAA Division III leaders, Kalczynski is 22nd in save percentage and 24th in GAA.

Kalczynski last earned conference player of the week laurels for collecting 50 saves to snap a 12-game winless skid to Fitchburg State last season.

In his junior semester for the Blue and Gold, Kalczynzki posted a 7-11-1 record with a 0.911 save percentage and a 3.13 GAA in 20 out of a possible 26 games.

Worcester State will play twice at home in the next week with Framingham State on Tuesday at 5:30 PM and Plymouth State on Saturday at 4:30.
