Kalczynzki Tabbed Co-MASCAC Goalkeeper of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- For the second time this season, Worcester State senior net-minder Bryan Kalczynski (Tonawanda, NY) has received a nod as MASCAC Goalkeeper of the Week for his performance in a win against Salem State on Saturday.

Kalczynski, who transferred from Erie Community College as a junior last season, posted a 4-0 shutout over the Vikings to help the Lancers tie for fourth place though the first third of the conference round-robin schedule. He would finish the contest stopping all 30 shots on goal in his first career shutout.

At the close of the first semester, Kalczynski is currently tied for the best goals against average (2.07) in the MASCAC while he leads the league in saves (256) and save percentage (.931). His save percentage is equaled as the ninth best in the NCAA Division III and his goals against average is 13th overall.

Kalczynski has helped the Blue and Gold post the second-best defense in the conference with just 24 goals allowed in 10 games played. WSU is also 17th nationally and tied for ninth in New England in the category.

In 29 games played Kalczynski has an 11-14-4 record with 949 saves and a save percentage of .921. He last earned Player of the Week accolades on November 28 for his strong performance at the Stovepipe/PAL Cup hosted by Southern New Hampshire.

The Lancers (4-4-2, 2-3-1 MASCAC) will take a break until they face off against Nichols at Buffone Rink on January 6 in the opening round of the Worcester Shootout Classic at 2:30. The winner or loser takes on Becker or Assumption on the following day.
