Lancers unable to complete comeback against Panthers

Worcester, MA - The Lancers made the trip up north to Hanaway Rink for a meeting with Plymouth State in Saturday night action. Worcester's late comeback efforts weren't enough as they fell to the Panthers.

Senior defender Petr Staif(Pilzen, Czech Republic) and Senior Forward Mike Wilson(Alexandria, VA) recorded their first goals of the season, while Brendan Ronan (Saugus, MA) recorded his second. 

Staif's goal was Worcester's first in the game, which came in the 3rd period with an assist from Sophomore forward Martin Dlugolinsky (Stara Lubovna, Slovakia). The Lancers would find themselves on the board twice more within the final minutes of the game, first from Wilson just before the fifteen minute mark, with help from Sophomore Forward Max Tucker (Kalamazoo, MI) and Sophomore Forward Bridgham Neuhold(Edmond, OK) and just over a minute later an unassisted goal from Ronan on the power play. 

Plymouth's Ethan Stuckless led the Panthers with two goals, while Jeromey Rancouirt led the team with six shots on goal while also scoring and assisting one each. 

Worcester's goaltenders Wyatt Friedlander(Lake Placid, NY) and Anthony Shrum(Muskegon, MI) split time in the net, with Friedlander recording seventeen saves and a save percentage of .850, and Shrum saving fifteen shots and recording a save percentage of .833. For the Panthers, Brendahn Brawley recorded twenty-seven saves and a save percentage of .900.

 

This brings Worcester to 2-4, while Plymouth improves to 4-2-1.
