Worcester, MA - Worcester State hit the road Thursday evening to face Salem in MASCAC play. Senior Forward Brendan Ronan (Saugus, MA)'s one goal & two assists led the Lancers to a 4-2 victory over the Vikings.

Sophomore Forward Shane Prifrel (Inver Grove Heights, MN) led the team with five shots on goal, including Worcester's second goal of the game, while Richard Coyle recorded five for the Vikings. Worcester's three other goals were scored by Junior Forward Deiter Strange (Niles, IL), who drew first blood for the Lancers, First-year Forward Anders Grongstad (Royal Oak, MI), and Brendan Ronan, who extended Worcester's lead on an empty netter.
Senior Forward Mikey Wilson (Alexandria, VA), Junior Forward Brian Clougherty (Lynn, MA) & Sophomore Defender Christian Phinney (Draper, UT) each recorded an assist, while Ronan recorded two.
Salem's goals were scored by Erik Larsson & Matt Yianacopolus, with help from Zach Dill, who was involved in both. Kyle Waldusky & Keagan O'Donoghue each recorded assists as well for the Vikings.
In the net, Sophomore Jakub Kubik (Uherske Hradiste, Czech Republic) played all 60 minutes & recorded 40 saves on 42 shots, while Salem's Hunter Thomas saved 24 shots out of 27.
This win brings Worcester to a 3-5 (3-1, MASCAC) record, while Salem falls to 1-6 (0-5, MASCAC). The Blue & Gold are back home this Saturday in a showdown with Fitchburg State. Puck drop is scheduled for 5pm. #WeAreWorcester
