La Crosse, WI --- Sophomore Terrence Gibson (Rockland, MA) placed fourth overall in the 110 meter hurdles for All-American accolades with a time of 14.68 to help pace the Worcester State men's track team on the final day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Wisconsin-La Crosse.
With five team points the Lancers tied for 45th place while the hosting Eagles edged Wisconsin-Eau Clare, 66-64, for the National Championship.
Gibson was 0.25 seconds off freshman Luke Campbell (Brunswick, MD) of Salisbury University who clocked 14.43 for the top time followed by junior Ryan Lopez-Jordan (Beechwood, OH) of Marietta (14.44) and third-year Adam Scalesse (Longview, WA) of Coast Guard (14.50).
For his efforts, Gibson was named MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week. He established a new program standard in the trials when he won the second heat with a split of 14.31 on Friday.
The All-American honors are the second for Gibson in his career as it marks the 15th time that a Worcester State individual has earned the prestigious laurels during the outdoor season.
Gibson helped the Lancers capture the first-ever men's National Championship this past indoor season in the 60 meter hurdles with the ninth-fastest split in Division III history (8.04).
