
PAXTON, Mass. – The Worcester State men's cross country team came in 4th place of five teams at this year's Worcester City Meet, as WPI took its 44th all-time team win with eight runners in the top-10.

WPI secured eight of the top-10 spots in the race, as they won their 44th all-time (3rd consecutive) Worcester City meet title. Avery Ingegneri (Warwick, R.I.) led the way for the Engineers finishing the 8K in a time of 27:50. One second behind him was teammate Tom Hanlon (Derry, N.H.), with a time of 27:51. Worcester State's Devin Luce (Milford, Mass.) was the first Lancer to cross the finish line, as he came in 15th place with a time of 29:45. Next up for the Lancers finishing in 25th place was junior, Christian Vera (Worcester, Mass.) with a time of 31:15. In 33rd, 34th, and 35th places came Christian Torres (Lowell, Mass.), Jack Newcomb (Chelmsford, Mass.), and John Shugrue (Worcester, Mass.), respectively. Finishing out for the Lancers was Alex Dalelio (Lynnfield, Mass.) in 40th place, and Omar Cardova (Worcester, Mass.) in 42nd place.
