Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) and sophomore Amanda Caldarone (Danvers, MA) have been tabbed as this week's MASCAC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for their outstanding performances at the Wheaton Invitational this past weekend.

Deininger placed second in the 60 meters (8.01) and 60 meter hurdles (9.38) before she ran the lead leg of the winning 4x200 meter relay (1:48.16) which qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships.

Her best times this season have included a converted time of 9.10 in the 60 meter hurdles at the Harvard Open in December and a converted 7.96 in the 60 meters at the same meet.

As of Tuesday morning, Deininger's 60 meter hurdle time is currently third in the Division III New England and ninth in the NCAA Division III while the time she clocked in the 60 is tied for sixth Division III rankings and tied for 22nd in the NCAA Division III.

Caldarone, who has been a recipient of MASCAC weekly field accolades in three out of the last four releases, took home the top prize in the long jump (16-11/5.16m) before she added ninth in the 60 meter hurdles (9.74).

Her leap of 17-6.25 feet (5.34m) at the season-opening meet at Brown is third in the Division III rankings, tied for seventh in the ECAC rankings and it is tied for 14th in the NCAA Division III.

The Blue and Gold will compete next week at the MIT Invitational and select sprinters will travel across the Charles to compete at the Boston University Terrier Invitational.
