Friday's Recap

New York, NY --- The 4x200 and distance medley relay teams both eclipsed school marks as they helped pace the Worcester State women's indoor track and field team at the first day of the ECAC Division III Championships at the NYC Armory.

The 4x200 meter relay team of sophomore classmates Liz Bodensieck (Raynham, MA), Alexandria McMahon (E. Longmeadow, MA), Brittany Hodgerney (Leicester, MA) and senior Briana Wise (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) finished in fifth with a time of 1:43.81 for a new program standard.

Bodensieck, Hodgerney and Wise were on the relay team last year that was the runner-up at the Division III New Englands and helped establish the 4x200 mark.

The DMR team of sophomore Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA), junior Megan Taylor (Danvers, MA) along with senior teammates Natalie Marchi (Northbridge, MA) and Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) clocked a time of 12:57.09 for 15th place to reset the record they set last week at the Open New England Championships.

Wise also scorched the track with a season-best time of 7.80 in the 60 meters to help capture the sixth seed in the finals tomorrow while junior Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) was just out of the running in ninth (7.91).

Deininger, however, did qualify for the 60 meter hurdle finals with sixth overall (9.02).

Wise's trial time in the 60 is the 18th fastest time in Division III this season and the fourth-fastest among those from New England on the list.
