Jasper, Werneth Propel Throwers For Women's Track At Dartmouth Relays

 

Hanover, NH --- Junior Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) had a toss of ninth overall in the shot put (38-07.50/11.77m) to stamp her ticket to the ECAC Division III Championships as she helped pace Worcester State women's indoor track and field team at the Dartmouth Relays on Sunday afternoon.

The meet featured top flight competition from several Division I and III schools along with area track and field clubs.

In addition to her solid day in the field, Jasper added 25th in the 60 meters (8.37) and a personal-best time of 29th in the 60 meter hurdles (10.03).

In her first meet of the season, senior Hannah Werneth (N. Yarmouth, ME) tied for 14th in the weight throw wrapping up the competition with a mark of 39-01.75 (11.93m).

The sprints group was paced by sophomore Emily Riehl (Trumbull, CT) who took home 22nd as the third-best Division III finisher (1:04.17).

Along with sophomore Nichole Tillery (Auburn, MA) and freshman Aliya-Marie Melville (Worcester, MA/South), Riehl and Jasper also helped the 4x200 meter relay team take home ninth with a time of 1:52.97.

The Lancers will compete next Saturday at the first Tufts Invitational in Medford.
