Deininger's Outstanding Run Ends In NCAA Indoor 60 Meter Hurdle Trials

Lincoln, NE --- Senior Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) sprinted to 15th place in the 60 meter hurdles (8.94) at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at Nebraska's Daveney Sports Center.

Deininger posted the sixth fastest time in the second heat that featured three of the eight All-American's on the podium. She was just 0.02 seconds away from equaling the mark she set last week with a runner-up finish in the 60 meter hurdles at the ECAC Division III Championships.

Making her third career appearance at an NCAA Division III Championship event, Deininger tied for the 14th best 60 meter hurdles nationally time to earn a spot in her first indoor national meet. She looks to quality for her third outdoor nationals berth in both the 110 meter hurdles and the 4x100 meter relay.

Along the way, Deininger repeated for the third straight year as the winner of the 55 meter hurdles at the MASCAC/Alliance Championship with a new meet record while she also placed third overall at the Division III New England Championships in the 60 meter hurdles.

Deininger also recorded an eighth-place finish at the Open New England Championships as the only Division III student-athlete in the 60 meter hurdle finals.

This meet concludes the season for the Worcester State women's indoor track and field program.
