WESTFIELD, Mass. - For the first time this season, Worcester State University women's indoor track & field freshman Maureen Grady (Douglas, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week.
Grady was the highest Lancer finisher at Friday's John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University, finishing 11th overall in the 60 meter dash at 8.06 seconds. Of 11 Division III athletes competing in the event, Grady was the top finisher, and defeated 21 Division I student-athletes.
She currently ranks 14th in New England in the event. She was previously named MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week on December 10.
Grady and the Lancers will return to the track this weekend for the Branwen Smith-King Invitational, hosted by Tufts University.
