Mathew LeMaire begins his fifth season at the helm of the Worcester State women's indoor and outdoor track & field program. LeMaire also doubles as women's cross country coach in the fall.
During the 2010-11 season, Coach LeMaire helped guide the women's indoor track & field team to its second-straight MASCAC Championship while during the outdoors the squad was second in the conference and New England Alliance standings. In 2009-10, he helped the Lancers claim their first-ever MASCAC Indoor and Outdoor titles.
Since Lemaire took the reigns of the program, he has helped
athletes break ten school indoor marks and 12 outdoor
marks multiple times.
Coach LeMaire is a 2004 graduate of Westfield State University
where he starred for the Owl track team in multiple events earning
numerous All-New England, Alliance, MASCAC and ECAC honors. LeMaire
was named the captain for the Owl squad for his senior season
becoming just the second captain in the history of the successful
Westfield State program. He is the Westfield State record holder in
the decathlon and earned the Owl’s most prestigious
student-athlete honor in 2004 receiving the Peter Mazza Athletics
Award.
Coach LeMaire is a USA Track and Field Level 1 and Level 2
(Sprints-Jumps-Hurdles-Relay and Endurance) certified coach and a
certified track and field official.
