
Buzzards Bay, MA --- Senior outside hitter Lauren
Saylor has received the nod as this week's MASCAC Women's
Volleyball Player of the Week after she helped propel the Lancers
in a pair of conference victories last week.
Saylor, a native of Swansea, MA (Case), averaged 13.6 kills and
11.3 digs in a 2-1 week for WSC. Saylor tallied 18 kills and 15
digs in a 3-2 triumph over Salem State while she added 14 kills and
11 digs in a 3-1 victory at Framingham State.
Saylor also was impressive as she connected for a .241 hitting percentage on the week. The victories allowed Worcester State to stay in good position in the conference standings for the upcoming MASCAC Tournament in two weeks.
Saylor has 205 kills this season which as a total is
third-best in the MASCAC while her average kills (2.89 per game)
are second in the conference. Saylor is also second on the team in
digs with 157.
Worcester State has four away matches in the next week. WSC heads
to Keene State at 7 PM on Tuesday before they play Trinity (CT) on
Friday3:30. WSC rounds out the week with a tri-match at Mass
Maritime when they play the Buccaneers at 1 o'clock and Thomas at 3
PM.
