Lebel Selected Co-MASCAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior middle blocker Becky Lebel has been named this week's Co-MASCAC Player of the Week for helping lead Worcester State to a conference triumph over Bridgewater State this past Wednesday. For Lebel, this is the second time that she has earned league weekly honors this season.

Lebel, who hails from Millbury, MA, recorded her fourth double-double of the year with 15 kills, 20 digs and a .300 hitting percentage while she added a service ace and a pair of blocks in a 3-2 victory over the Bears. The win helped the Lancers clinch a playoff spot in the upcoming MASCAC Women's Volleyball Tournament on November 5.

Lebel is currently sixth in the league in hitting percentage (.233), eighth in kills (172) and ninth in average kills (2.05 KPG). In addition to leading the squad in kills, she is also second in total digs (213) and average digs (2.54 DPG), tied for second in blocks (24 – 13 solo) and fourth in aces (19).

Lebel last received conference weekly accolades on September 23 and she shared this week's award with Julia Warner (Lee, MA) of Westfield State.

The Blue and Gold (11-14, 3-2 MASCAC) will finish off their conference schedule with a home match against Mass Maritime on Wednesday at 7 PM on "Senior Day." If the Lancers earn the victory over the Buccaneers, they will claim the third seed in the conference tournament which will determine the leagues representative in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament.
