W. Hartford, CT --- Senior Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) finished with a game-best 20 kills to go with 20 digs as she helped pace third-seeded Worcester State to a 3-1 victory over #6 St. Joseph (CT) in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Division III New England Women's Volleyball Tournament.

The Lancers (24-9) will play second-seeded Salve Regina on Saturday in Springfield at Western New England in a 1 PM affair. The Seahawks earned a spot in the semifinals by defeating #7 MCLA, 3-0, earlier this evening.

After the Blue Jays defeated the visitors, 25-17, in the opening set, the Blue and Gold came back and won the final three games by scores of 25-14, 36-34 and 25-14.

St. Joseph ends their season at 16-7 in their first-ever ECAC New England Tournament appearance.

Sophomore Courtney Salisbury (Cranston, RI/West) logged 18 digs, six kills and three aces while junior Jennifer Cabral (Swansea, MA) chipped in with 19 digs.

Senior Amanda Lewis (Poughkeepsie, NY) handed out 29 assists as she also added 10 digs, two block assists and a pair of kills. Junior Samantha Patterson (Fayetteville, NC) put up 10 digs and she contributed four assists.

WSU earns its fourth trip to the semifinals as their other three appearances were seeded entries to start off the 1984, 1985 and 1986 ECAC New England Tournament.

It was also the Lancers first ECAC victory since 1985 as the Blue and Gold swept Roger Williams, 3-0, to advance to the only ECAC championship game in program history.
