Women's Cross Country Finishes 20th At UMass Dartmouth

North Dartmouth, MA --- Junior Maura Withington (W. Palm Beach, FL) notched 82nd place with a time of 20:08 to help the womens cross country team place 20th at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational this afternoon. Freshman Kelsey Cartwright (Bridgewater, MA) also impressed as she clocked 20:09 in 84th place for the women.

Wellesley won the team championship followed by MIT and Keene State. Westfield State finished in 10th for the best MASCAC school finish while the Lancers edged out Bridgewater State who placed 21st.

First-year Jenna Pickard (Peabody, MA) recorded 108th (20:27) while junior Meg Plant (Franklin, MA) was in 130th (20:50). Sophomore Kristina Richard (Peabody, MA) rounded out the top five as she covered the 5k course in 156th (21:10).

In the sub varsity race freshman Ali Barret (Hingham, MA) added 30th place (20:37) followed by Christine Shaffer (Atkinson, NH) who finished in 45th (21:10). Sophomore teammates Nicole Boudreau (S. Windsor, CT) and Molly Gates (Worcester, MA/Doherty) rounded out the group as they took 84th (21:55) and 86th (22:01), respectively.

The Lancers will host the Worcester City Meet next weekend at Moore State Park in Paxton.
