Worcester State Women Rack up PRs at James Earley

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Cross-Country took to the course today at the James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park in Westfield, MA this afternoon. The team finished 17th out of 25 teams at the race, on a brisk Saturday morning.

The Lancers were once again led by first year Nina Fonteix (Elancourt, France), who finished with a time of 20:47.01 to place 62 out of 167 runners. Finishing 10 spots behind Fonteix was first year Leah Berg (Worcester, MA) with a personal best 21:14.60 to place second for the Lancers. Finishing third for the squad was junior Caitlin Conneely (Tewksbury, MA) with a time of 21:28.82. Rounding out the final two finishers for the team score were junior Erica Hanlon (Shrewsbury, MA) and first year Emily Colantuoni (Haverhill, MA) with times of 21:50.19 and 24:24.44 respectively.

Closing out the finishes for the Lancers, recording personal bests, were junior Angela Nigro (Webster, MA) with a time of 25:27.34 and first year Jillian Bolster (Westborough, MA) who finished with a time of 25:38.51.

The Worcester State Women's Cross-Country team is back on the course October 15 at the Connecticut College Invitational.
