Worcester State Men's and Women's Cross Country Announce 2022 Schedule

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country team, along with second year head coach Tom Ronan, have announced their 2022 course schedule. Both teams are looking for dominant performances on the course this fall, with the Men’s looking to repeat as MASCAC Champions, the women are aiming to hoist a trophy of their own come November. The men's team is led by seasoned contributors and team captain Daniel Clark, who placed 10th in the MASCAC Championship last season, along with Elias Boone and Ethan Goodreau.  The team also had a group of talented returners and additions to the program. The Women’s team is led by talented veteran captain Erica Hanlon and seasoned runner Caitlin Conneely along with a strong group of new recruits.

The Cross-Country season kicks off on September 2nd when the teams travel to Boston to complete in the Suffolk Short Course Classic Invitational. The squad then travels, on the 17th, to UMass Dartmouth for the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. These races are additional prep before the team heads to Lehigh, PA to participate in the Paul Short Invitational hosted at Lehigh University, where they will compete with teams from across the country.

As the calendar flips to October, so does the team focus shift to prepping for the MASCAC Championships, with an October 8th participation in the James Earley Invitational at Stanly Park in Westfield. The race will provide the teams with their first looks at the intended course for the MASCAC Championship. Before either team begins their post-season, they will travel to Waterford Connecticut to run in the Connecticut College XC Invitational. October 29th will see the teams travelling back to Stanley Park, this time for the MASCAC Championship and a chance to claim the top spot in the conference. Advancing teams and runners will then travel to Bowdoin College for the NCAA Division III East Championships on November 12th.
