MASCAC Football Weekly Release - October 17
WESTFIELD, Mass. -- After helping lead Worcester State University to a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Mass. Maritime on Saturday, senior quarterback Aaron-Moses Williams (Springfield, Mass.) and sophomore wide receiver Ke'Vaughn Davis (Utica, N.Y.) were honored by the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) on Sunday afternoon as Players of the Week.
Davis was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week for the second straight week and the fourth time this season, while Williams was named Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this year.
The tandem hooked up for three touchdowns, all of them in the fourth quarter, as the Lancers overcame a 21-point deficit to beat the Buccaneers 28-24. Williams finished 30-of-45 for 381 yards and four touchdowns without a turnover, while adding 41 yards on the ground to cross the 400-yard threshold for all-purpose yards. After finding Deion Osei-Sarpong (Holden, Mass.) for a touchdown in the opening quarter, Williams threw touchdowns of 36 and 34 yards to Davis before hitting the wideout with a five-yard pass to give Worcester State the lead.
While notching his first ever three-touchdown day, Davis had a career-high 13 receptions for 190 yards. It was the fourth time this season that he has had over 100 yards receiving, and he leads the conference in receiving yards (765), yards per game (127.5) and receiving touchdowns (8).
The Lancers are back on the road next Saturday when they travel to Plymouth State for a 1:00 PM kickoff.
