Worcester, MA- After defeating Castleton in resounding fashion on Saturday 31-6, first year Manuel Freitas (Dartmouth, MA) has been picked as this week’s MASCAC Special Team Player of the Week.
Freitas made a 19-yard field goal and four extra point attempts in the Lancers’ 31-6 win over VT State-Castleton. On the season thus far, Freitas a has scored 19 points for the Lancers off 16 extra points.
Joining Freitas on the honor roll for the week is senior Damian Mitchell (Lancaster, PA) who recorded eight solo tackles and two interceptions, one for an 80-yard touchdown return, and a pass breakup in the game.
Worcester State is back in action on Saturday when they host Mass. Maritime in their final home game and senior day celebration. Kick off is set for 12pm.
