With the win, the Engineers improve to 4-0 and the Lancers dip to 2-2.

Shortly after the Crimson and Gray came up empty on two penalty corner opportunities, O'Sullivan regained possession, carried the ball into the circle and sent the pass to Hess for the game-ender.

The roles were reversed when O'Sullivan sliced a 2-0 deficit in half thanks to a pass from Hess at 40:38. Junior Bridget Sullivan's (Wilmington, Mass.) second goal of the year leveled the game at 2-2 at 63:23. Twelve seconds later O'Sullivan gave the hosts the 3-2 advantage; however, 40 seconds after the go-ahead tally WSU sophomore Rachel Hopkins (Chelmsford, Mass.) made it a 3-3 contest with a blast from just inside the top of the circle.

Worcester State had the lone penalty corner chance the rest of regulation while the Engineers had a pair of opportunities in the extra session.

The first half belonged to Worcester State senior Michaila Parent (Westborough, MA). The Little East Offensive Player of the Week, and NFHCA honorable mention, found the back of the cage after a pair of rebounds at 3:09 and again at 27:20.

Senior Karen Mushrall (Mariaville, Maine) stopped six shots for WPI while WSU freshman Jess Hopkins (Chelmsford, Mass.) halted five, and sophomore Sarah Duff (Warren, Mass.) added a defensive save.

The Engineers had one more shot overall and on-goal, and were awarded nine of the game's 13 penalty corners.

WPI begins its NEWMAC schedule Saturday with a 2:30pm home contest versus Wellesley. Worcester State heads to Conn. College for a noon non-conference matchup, also on Saturday.
