Haltam Named MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week

Westfield, MA --- Freshman Sean Haltam (Medina, OH/Ogden Mustangs) has been selected MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week for his efforts in pacing Worcester State to a 2-1 record last week.

Haltam registered two markers including the game winning tally in a 6-2 victory over Framingham State on Thursday, February 26. The victory helped the Lancers claim a spot in their sixth consecutive MASCAC Tournament.

In 22 games this season, Haltam has produced four goals and one assist for a total of five points in his freshman season for the Blue and Gold with two tallies coming on power plays, tying for second on the squad in the category.

He has also played in 16 out of a possible 18 contests against conference opponents and a trio of markers coming in league contests.

Haltam is the second individual and third honoree on the squad to capture MASCAC Rookie of the Week accolades as freshman Tyler Fallica (Coram, NY/Ogden Mustangs) was recognized on January 14 and again on February 10.

Following a five-game winning streak entering the MASCAC Tournament, the Lancers (9-15-2) ended their campaign in the quarterfinals against Westfield State this past Saturday.
