WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University's women's lacrosse team is set to host its inaugural 5K event to support the One Love Foundation on Sunday, April 22 at Worcester State.  

The One Love Foundation was founded in 2010 to honor Yeardley Love, a women's lacrosse student-athlete at the University of Virginia who was a victim of relationship violence. The Foundation was established in 2010 to ensure everyone understand the difference between a healthy and an unhealthy relationship.

Worcester State's 5K supporting the foundation will be a race around the campus of Worcester State University, timing services courtesy of Central Mass Striders. Registration for the event is available ONLINE. One can also register by filling out the APPLICATION and sending it to Kelly Downs (Worcester State University, Athletic Department, 486 Chandler St. Worcester MA 01602). Checks can be made payable to Worcester State Women's Lacrosse.

Registration costs are as follows: early bird registration $20, or day of race $25. The first 50 registered will receive a free t-shirt. All proceeds will go to the One Love Foundation.

The women's lacrosse team has its One Love dedication game on April 10. The team will be accepting donations then as well.  Last season the team raised $500 towards the cause.
