Brunswick, ME --- Freshman Mara Kralian
(Grafton, MA) clocked fifth in the 55 meter dash as she continued
her impressive season to help lead the Worcester State
women’s indoor track team to a 18th place finish at the New
England Division III regionals hosted by Bowdoin.
Kralian took fifth in the 55 meter dash (7.57) to earn All-Division
III Regional honors while she helped the 4 x 200 relay team of
freshman teamates Sarah Rafferty (Attleboro, MA)
and Kristina Lisacki (Woburn, MA) along with
sophomore Becky Galipeau (Bellingham, MA) finish
seventh with a time of 1:50.54.
Sophomore Andrea Ouellette (Salisbury, MA) also
distinguished herself with All-Division III Regional honors taking
home eighth in the triple jump (35-07.25). Galipeau landed 10th in
the long jump (16-02.25) while Kralian chalked up 15th in the
triple jump (33-08.75). Ouellette rounded out the field with a 21st
place in the long jump .

Rafferty and Kralian finished 10th (27.38) and 11th (27.40) in
the 200 while junior Kara Antrim (Rowley, MA)
notched 13th in the 1000 (3:08.52).
The Lancers 4 x 800 meter relay team of Antrim, first-year teamates
Meg Plant (Franklin, MA) and Maura Withington
(Walpole, MA) with sophomore Rachael Sullivan
(Ipswich, MA) placed 10th with a time of 10.23.36.
MIT took the top spot with 134 points followed by Williams (118)
and Tufts (108). Locally, WPI tied the Lancers for 18th while
conference rival Westfield State finished in 12th with 21
points.
Next week select members of the women’s indoor team will
compete at the All-New England Regionals hosted by Boston
University.
