Framingham State 3, Worcester State 0
Worcester, MA --- Freshman Jennifer Cabral (Swansea, MA) put up totals of six kills and nine digs as Worcester State was defeated by Framingham State in MASCAC women's volleyball action on Saturday morning.
The first set was closely contested in a 25-22 battle, but then the Rams (19-5, 5-0 MASCAC) pulled away with final scores of 25-10 and 25-15. The Lancers record is now 10-8 and 2-2 in MASCAC play.
First-year Kaylee Leduc (Swansea, MA) added 15 digs while junior Megan Brown (Dartmouth, MA) tallied four kills and five digs.
Rookie Gina Battista (West Springfield, MA) dished out 15 assists.
Babson 3, Worcester State 0
Brown paced the Blue and Gold in the final match of the afternoon with six kills and seven digs, but Babson prevailed in a 3-0 triumph over Worcester State.
The Lancers (11-10) played the regionally-ranked Beavers (18-5) tough as the visitors won in three consecutive sets by scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-16. Babson is ranked 15th in last week's New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) poll.
Cabral also ended the match with 5 kills and 5 digs as Leduc chipped in with 11 digs.
Battista handed out a season-best 19 assists.
The Lancers will look to get back on the winning track on Tuesday when they face off against Bridgewater State on "Senior Day" in a key MASCAC matchup at 7 PM at home.
